  • Day 1

Your meeting point for this small group tour is Tours Desk at Kyoto Station-Hachijo Exit, at 08.25 am. You will meet your English speaking guide here.

First you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Nijo Castle.  This historical castle was completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace.

Then you will proceed to explore Kinkaku-ji Temple, another World Heritage Site, which is also known as the Golden Pavilion. Although it is a Zen Buddhist temple the architecture of its three storey building incorporates three distinct styles, shinden, Samurai and Zen. Be marvelled with the stunning architecture and the gorgeous views of the surrounding lake.

You will then proceed to visit the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Visitors generally require an application in advance, but participants of this tour could enter by going through a brief procedure of filling an application at the entrance.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine main hall is a designated national treasure and is famous for housing the God of scholarship. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

Tour ends at around 1 pm at Kyoto station.
